Leslie 122 Rebuild Kit

The Leslie 122 Rebuild kit comes with (1) Leslie 122 Main Board, (1) Leslie 122/147 Power Supply, and (1) CapSaver. This kit is configurable for either a Type A power supply or a Type B power supply. See below for individual product details. 

The Leslie 122 Main Board by Adkerson Amplification replaces all major audio components in a Leslie 122 amplifier.

Key Features:

• Significantly reduces amplifier rebuild time.

• Meticulous component placement and ground scheme reduces noise floor as compared to original Leslie 122 design.

• Integrated mechanical relay stays true to the original design while adding RC snubber circuits that minimize clicks/pops in audio during relay switching and provide arc suppression to extend the life of the relay contacts.

The Leslie 122/147 Type A Power Supply by Adkerson Amplification replaces all power supply components.

• Utilizes choke bolts for convenient mounting.

• Replaces multi-section capacitor with high quality radial capacitors.

• Replaces diodes with full wave rectifier, 

• Replaces main voltage dropping resistors. 

• Adds fuses to each power transformer secondary winding for maximum power transformer protection.

• It is configured with a cathode bypass capacitor for the 6550 power tubes for full electrolytic replacement if a Main Board by Adkerson Amplification is not being used.

• It has provisions to easily install the Cap Saver by Adkerson Amplification to maximize the life of filter capacitors.

The Leslie 122/147 Type B Power Supply by Adkerson Amplification replaces all power supply components.

The CapSaver is a device that delays the application of high voltage to the amplifier circuit until the power tubes have had time to heat up. Before the cathodes in the power tubes are hot, they do not draw current. When high voltage is applied to the circuit before the tubes are drawing current, the voltage is much higher than normal operating voltage. In some amps, such as Leslie amplifiers, the voltage can exceed the capacitor voltage rating and cause damage to the capacitors.
